The McKinney City Council approved a citywide ordinance banning aggressive panhandling, prohibiting threatening gestures or blocking pedestrians and vehicles. At the same Sept.16 meeting, the council tabled two related ordinances—one restricting sitting or sleeping in public spaces and another expanding the city’s ban on camping to include overnight vehicle stays. Both will be reconsidered at the Oct. 21 meeting.
