Lunch Bunch – Native Bees in Texas with Carol Clark
Join MillHouse McKinney’s Lunch Bunch Speaker Series for an informal, educational conversation about native bees in Texas. Learn how to identify these essential pollinators, create backyard habitats, and participate in citizen science programs. Bring your own lunch—everyone is welcome, and the event is free
Texas is home to hundreds of native bee species—many of them gentle, solitary, and absolutely essential to our ecosystems. They may not be the European honeybees we usually think of, but native bees in Texas play a huge role in pollination and deserve a spot in our home landscapes.
Carol Clark will break down the challenges bees are facing, why native bees in Texas matter, and how to spot the wide range of colors, shapes, and behaviors you’ll find right in your own backyard. She’ll share what to plant, how to create simple DIY nesting sites, and how to take part in national citizen-science tracking efforts.
Lunch Bunch Speaker Series is an informal conversation around topics of interest to members and nonmembers.
Lunch is not provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.
All are welcome. The event is free.
