Join us for Lunch Bunch: Reality of Crime Scene Investigations as Oliwia Tyszkiewicz gives us an inside look at the world of forensic science and crime scene investigations. \nOliwia will walk through the crime scene investigation process from start to finish\, sharing what happens when investigators arrive at a scene\, how evidence and fingerprints are collected and analyzed\, and how forensic databases are used to help solve crimes. She’ll also discuss the different disciplines within forensic science and how they work together during an investigation. \nCurious how much crime TV gets right? Oliwia will compare the realities of working in forensic science with the way crime scene investigations are often portrayed on television. Whether you’re a true crime fan\, interested in science\, or simply curious about what happens behind the scenes of an investigation\, this conversation will offer a fascinating look at the science and work involved in solving crimes. \nOliwia Tyszkiewicz is the Forensics Supervisor for the McKinney Police Department. Originally from Poland\, she earned her degree in Forensic Science from Virginia Commonwealth University and has worked in forensic investigations since 2018. After serving with the Dallas Police Department\, she joined the McKinney Police Department\, where she now oversees crime scene investigations and forensic operations. \nLunch Bunch Speaker Series is an informal conversation around topics of interest to members and nonmembers.
