Welcome Teachers!

In a resounding celebration of dedication to education, our recent New Teacher Event witnessed an unprecedented gathering of over 250 new teachers and paraprofessionals, creating an electrifying atmosphere of learning, connection, and empowerment. The event, which showcased the collaboration of over 70 sponsors, successfully provided an avenue for educators to connect, access essential services, receive valuable swag, and even walk away with exciting door prizes. This remarkable initiative reflects the unwavering commitment of our business community to support and nurture the growth of our educators.

An Incredible Partnership

Amidst the backdrop of eager faces and enthusiastic minds, Trinity Falls by Johnson Development gave away two $500 gifts to teachers in attendance to outfit their classrooms for the new year. Trinity Falls has been the Presenting Sponsor of the MISD New Teacher Breakfast for 3 years and are always eager to support the teachers. Director of Marketing, C’Ella Clayton, said “The McKinney Chamber of Commerce has put together an excellent way for all local businesses and organizations to come together and celebrate the importance of teaching. The MISD New Teacher Breakfast program is a great way for our organization to continue our efforts of supporting education and giving back to communities surrounding our neighborhoods.” When reflecting on the event C’Ella stated “We really enjoy connecting with all the teachers and staff around the balloon photo op. You can see the excitement on their faces and how enthusiastic they are to be at the event with their co-workers. They share their delight and stories of becoming a teacher with us as we snap their photos. The energy they bring is electric and fun. We wish them all great success for the new school year.”

Services that Make a Difference

Education is a multi-faceted endeavor that extends beyond the classroom. Recognizing this, our event played host to a diverse range of sponsors offering indispensable services. From educational resource providers, mental health and wellness experts to investment agencies, these sponsors provided new teachers with a comprehensive toolkit to navigate the challenges of their profession. Teachers had the opportunity to visit exhibit tables of over 70 vendors to connect with their services and feel the support of the community behind them.

The Thrill of Swag

What’s an event without a bit of swag? Sponsors at the MISD New Teacher Breakfast went above and beyond to shower attendees with thoughtful and useful items. Teachers and paraprofessionals not only received a loaded goody bag but also collected items from exhibit tables as they visited. The generosity of our sponsors also shone through as lucky educators won coveted prizes, including self-care items, classroom technology, and baskets stacked with school supplies. These tokens of appreciation not only serve as tangible reminders of the event but also contribute to the enhancement of classroom environments, thus positively impacting students’ learning experiences.

Words that Inspire

After visiting our sponsor exhibit tables, teachers were treated to a time of encouragement and spirit! Featuring MISD cheerleaders, dance team, and drum line the teachers were welcomed with pep that set them up for a fantastic program. With colors presented by the MCJROTC, State Representative Frederick Fraizer attended to lead the pledge and show his support for the educators. The teachers also heard encouraging words from Phillip Hassler, MISD School Board President, as well as Shawn Pratt, MISD Superintendent. The keynote speech was given by Libby Spears who spoke to the teachers about valuing each and every student in the classroom and nurturing them to become leaders.

Unwavering Support

The resounding success of our recent New Teacher Event serves as a testament to the power of collaboration, community, and commitment to educators within the McKinney business community. With over 250 educators and paraprofessionals coming together, supported by a network of over 70 sponsors, the event truly embodied the spirit of empowerment and growth. As we reflect on the connections made, services accessed, swag received, and door prizes won, it is clear that our business community stands united in its mission to provide a nurturing and thriving environment for both educators and students alike. The MISD New Teacher Breakfast has set the stage for a brighter future, where the torch of knowledge is passed from one generation of educators to the next, fostering a legacy of learning and inspiration.
