Residents to offer feedback on finalists to redevelop downtown properties

McKINNEY, Texas (Nov. 21, 2023) – Residents and other interested parties are invited to share feedback regarding three development teams seeking to partner with the city to redevelop city-owned properties in McKinney’s historic downtown at a public event between 5:30—8:45 p.m. on Nov. 28 at City Hall, 222 N. Tennessee St.

The three development teams are:

  • Hines Interests LP, from Dallas, TX
  • M2G Ventures, LLC., from Ft. Worth, TX
  • Nack Development, LLC., from Frisco, TX

The event will begin with presentations from each of the development teams and close with an opportunity for the public to talk directly with the development teams. The presentations will include preliminary development concepts for how the properties could be redeveloped. The public will be asked to share their feedback regarding the development teams and their preliminary development concepts through a survey.

The city issued a request for qualifications (RFQ) earlier this year to identify a partner or partners the city can work with to redevelop city-owned properties that will be vacated when the new McKinney City Hall opens in early 2025, including the Development Services building and the current City Hall.

“The redevelopment of these properties will be very impactful, and we want to make sure the public has a chance to weigh in on the development teams and their visions,” said City Manager Paul Grimes. “Because the redevelopment of these properties will help shape the future of our downtown, it’s important to the city’s leadership to hear from the public as we select our development partner.”
