The McKinney Chamber of Commerce recently hosted its annual State of the City luncheon, where community members gathered for an in-depth discussion on the progress and future vision for McKinney. Moderated by Shelbie Hamilton of Community Impact, the event featured a distinguished panel of local leaders, including Mayor George Fuller, City Manager Paul Grimes, MISD Superintendent Shawn Pratt, and Collin College President Dr. Neil Matkin. Together, they addressed McKinney’s growth, educational initiatives, and key challenges, providing attendees with valuable insights into the city’s trajectory.
Frontier Waste Solutions was the presenting sponsor, underscoring their dedication to supporting McKinney’s development. “We were excited to invest in this event because launching Frontier Waste Solutions in McKinney took a lot of time and effort, and we were thrilled to share our excitement with the city,” said Grant Gregg, Area Vice President, NTX for Frontier Waste Solutions. “As a customer-centered business, it just makes sense for us to support initiatives that bring our customers together, and it’s a perfect place to start building relationships. Plus, who doesn’t enjoy hearing about trash? This event even gave us a chance to share some new Dallas Cowboys material—an extra touch of fun for everyone.” This partnership highlighted the importance of collaboration between local businesses and community leaders in fostering a thriving city.
This year’s luncheon was further enhanced by musical performances that set an inspiring tone for the afternoon. The McKinney High School orchestra, under the direction of Jeff Harvick, delivered a beautiful musical backdrop for the event. Opening the program with a patriotic touch, Collin College student Cierra Cooper sang a stirring rendition of the national anthem, showcasing the talent within McKinney’s community.
The McKinney Chamber of Commerce extends its gratitude to all sponsors, panelists, and attendees for making the State of the City luncheon a memorable and impactful event. This gathering underscored McKinney’s commitment to progress while celebrating the partnerships that strengthen the community.
