Recognizes Outstanding Contributions, and Explores Economic Outlook for 2024
The McKinney Chamber of Commerce recently held its highly anticipated Annual Business Meeting, marking a momentous occasion to reflect on the achievements of the past year, honor exceptional individuals, and gain valuable insights into the economic landscape ahead. The event, held on January 25th at Collin College, brought together esteemed members, stakeholders, and partners to celebrate collective successes and chart the course for the future.
The gathering commenced with a heartfelt reflection on the accomplishments and challenges faced by the Chamber throughout the preceding year. Attendees had the opportunity to reminisce about milestones achieved, lessons learned, and the unwavering resilience exhibited in navigating through an exhilarating year.
A highlight of the luncheon was the prestigious recognition of the ‘Ambassador of the Year’. This esteemed award acknowledges an individual within the Chamber community who has demonstrated exemplary dedication, leadership, and commitment to advancing the organization’s mission. The 2023 Ambassador of the Year was awarded to David Riche. The Chamber also honored the Ambassador Team of the Year for their outstanding service lead by Angie Owens. Team members include- Kelsey Gleason, Cynthia Hanby, Kim Kirchner, David Riche, and Kimberly Wartell.
Additionally, the Annual Business Meeting provided an opportunity to express gratitude and bid farewell to esteemed board members who have served their terms with distinction and dedication. Their invaluable contributions have significantly shaped the trajectory of The McKinney Chamber of Commerce, leaving an indelible mark on its legacy. Board members rolling off this year were- Peggy Ellis, Don McNeely, Mari McGowan, and Nate Pike.
One of the afternoon’s most anticipated highlights was the keynote address delivered by Director, Bush Institute-Economic Growth Institute, Dr. Cullum Clark. Dr. Clark provided invaluable insights into the economic outlook for 2024, both within North Texas and nationwide. Attendees were captivated by Dr. Clark’s astute analysis, which encompassed emerging trends, potential challenges, and opportunities on the horizon. His expertise offered invaluable guidance for strategic planning and informed decision-making in the dynamic business landscape ahead.
