Voters will consider five General Obligation bond propositions McKINNEY, Texas (Feb. 6, 2024) – The McKinney City Council voted to call an election where voters will consider five general obligation bond propositions. The general election is scheduled for May 4, with early voting from April 22-30. General obligation bonds are funds borrowed by the city for specific public purposes. Authorization to borrow must be approved by voters and are repaid with property tax revenue. Voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballots “for” or “against” each of the following propositions: Proposition A: The issuance of $106,000,000for parks and recreation improvements Proposition B: The issuance of $36,000,000 for a municipal courts facility Proposition C: The issuance of $30,000,000 for public works south campus improvements Proposition D: The issuance of $70,000,000 for public safety facilities Proposition E: The issuance of $243,500,000 for street improvements For additional information regarding the upcoming election, visit www.mckinneytexas.org/2024Bond. # # # |
