McKinney City Council approved zoning for a proposed 222-unit senior housing community north of US 380 near Lake Forest Drive.
The Forest View Senior Housing development would span nearly 10.5 acres and include three residential buildings plus about 7,850 square feet of commercial space for potential medical, retail, restaurant or office uses.
The zoning divides the property into areas for commercial and multifamily development, with a small tract planned to be transferred to neighboring single-family homeowners.
