Learn About McKinney’s New Housing Development that will Feature a 25-mile Trail System

by | Jun 24, 2022

As design director of Avid Trails, Jay Hoeschler’s whole goal when building a trail system is to get people to park their cars in their garage and use their community’s trails.

His company’s latest project is Painted Tree, McKinney’s newest residential community by locally-based developer, Oxland Group. Painted Tree aims to achieve Jay’s goal in a big way, maybe the most significant trails project a development in North Texas has ever seen.

At full build out, Painted Tree will feature 1,100 acres of residential development and 3,400 homesites, including single-family homes and townhouses for sale, as well as apartments and single-family homes for lease.

One of the more unique aspects of Painted Tree is the massive trail system being planned, which will include different surfaces and topography. It will appeal to all types of adventurists including stroller walkers, serious runners, nature lovers, mountain bikers and tykes just learning how to use their bikes.

In total it will add 25 miles of total trails to McKinney's overall system.
