Twenty Texas communities have been named to a study of the top-selling master-planned communities through the first half of 2022 in the country.
Every year since 1994, RCLCO Real Estate Consulting has conducted a national survey identifying the top-selling master planned communities by evaluating total new home sales that are reported by each individual community.
Two Florida communities took the No. 1 and 2 spots. No. 1 went to Central Florida's The Villages and No. 2 was Sarasota, Florida's Lakewood Ranch, but three Texas communities were named to the Top 10 including one in Aubrey at No. 3.
The Houston area was the top-performing metro area with 13 communities in the Top 50.
Here is where Texas communities landed:
3. Silverado (Aubrey)
7. Mission Bridge (El Paso)
8. Suntera (Katy)
13. Valley Ranch (San Antonio)
19. Bridgeland (Cypress)
20. Marvida (Cypress)
Other-DFW areas to make the list include:
28. Wildcat Ranch (Crandall)
45. Union Park (Little Elm)
Here are a few things to know about the report:
• Total new home sales among the 50 Top declined by 18% in the first half of 2022 compared to the same time period last year.
• The report said that supply chain issues and a lack of new home inventory have created issues for developers.
• The average price among all new single-family homes is up 15% across the country, since mid-year 2021.
