In celebration of the Kentucky Derby, Historic Downtown McKinney and Lone Star Wine Cellars are throwing a Derby Day Wine & Whiskey Walk on Saturday from noon to 6 p.m.
You can spend your day sipping, shopping, and exploring Historic Downtown McKinney before watching the race.

Here are the ticket packages:
• Wine Only Walk: $30 plus tax includes a souvenir wine glass and a wine passport for 12 tastes of hand-selected Lone Star Wine Cellars wine. Get your wine passport stamped at 12 shops and return your completed passport to the finish line at Lone Star Wine Cellars for a bonus taste.
• Wine & Whiskey Walk: $45 plus tax includes all the fun of the Wine Only Walk package plus four whiskey cocktail samples at local restaurants.
• VIP Wine & Whiskey Walk: $55 plus tax includes the Wine & Whiskey Walk package, plus all-day check-in and a hands-free wine glass holder.
“This is such a fun event, where everyone dresses up in bright colors, large Derby hats, bow ties and suspenders,” said Becky Ross, managing partner at Lone Star Wine Cellars. “We pregame the whole day for those fastest two minutes in sports.”
The Derby Walk is one of several different wine walks Lone Star Wine Cellars hosts every year in Historic Downtown McKinney. Some of the other events include Valentine’s Chocolate Wine Walk in February and Ugly Christmas Sweater Wine Walk in December.
