The Fort Worth Herd Cattle Drive
Going to the Fort Worth Stockyards to watch the longhorns walk through is a great way to experience Texas culture while also saving money. Twice every day the longhorns walk through the historic district of Fort Worth. This is a great way to experience first hand the unique culture of Fort Worth, which is appropriately nicknamed "cowtown." Stop by to watch at 11:30 a.m. or 4 p.m.
The Interurban Railway Museum (Plano)
Located in downtown historic Plano, this museum is a great way to entertain the kids during the summer. The museum features a Downtown Plano model train, an exhibit explaining the history of the electric railway system in Texas, and an interactive electricity room. They also offer a story time on Friday mornings starting at 11 a.m.

Visit the state capitol (Austin)
Looking for a road trip? Visiting the state capitol building in Austin gives visitors a first-hand look at the history of the state. Visitors can self tour the building and learn more about the state, as well as view the beautiful architecture of the building. A Google Reviewer wrote "Beautiful building and the grounds around it are amazing. Truly an amazing place to learn and experience the great history of the lone star state."

Walk the River Walk in San Antonio
This iconic walk along the river is a great way to get exercise and experience the rich history of San Antonio. Reviewers on Google call it a “relaxing and fun experience.” Tip: if you are okay spending a few bucks while there, the GO RIO narrated boat cruises are a fantastic way to experience and learn more about the River Walk.

Window shop at NorthPark Center in Dallas
Located at the intersection of Loop 12 and US 75, you don’t have to spend a penny to walk through NorthPark Mall and browse the over 200 stores within. Window shopping the luxury handbags and designer stores is a great indoor activity for all the fashion lovers out there. Some stores in the NorthPark Center are Neiman Marcus, Tory Burch, Balenciaga and Versace. There is also a Dallas Public Library inside, called Bookmarks.
