I Wear My Mask
I wear my mask out to the gym,
but do not have to when I swim.
I wear it to the grocery store,
and to my school when out the door.
I wear it to the doctor's office,
because we all are being cautious.
It's not even a great pain,
and there's so very much to gain.
I wear my mask for little Davey Wayne,
'cuz he has chemo for his brain.
I wear it for sweet Mary Dee,
for very, very old is she.
I wear it because I am smart,
and because I have a great big heart.
I wear my mask for Mrs. Shirley,
who had her baby 3 months early.
And all I must do to keep her safe,
is wear a mask around my face.
So wear a mask! One and all!
so we'll have football in the fall.
And trips abroad to foreign lands,
just don't forget to wash your hands.
Please don't be a silly baboon,
and this will all be over soon.
But if it's not, then for awhile,
I'll wear my mask, along with a smile.
