McKinney is at the top of pack in the state when it comes to how much space people have in their rentals.
RentCafe recently published a study of cities in the U.S. where there is the most apartment space per person.
According to the study, “the average apartment space per person is about 540 square feet, based on the ratio of the average apartment size to the average number of renters living in a household across the U.S.”
Many DFW cities are at or exceeding this national average. Below is how DFW towns ranked against each other.
- McKinney – 601 sqft
- Frisco – 578 sqft
- Lewisville – 559 sqft
- Fort Worth – 549 sqft
- Plano – 542 sqft
- Dallas – 537 sqft
- Irving – 441 sqft
- Arlington – 438 sqft
The study explained researchers looked at apartments in 254 cities across the U.S. They used Yardi Matrix data and looked at the average number of renters in a household as reported by the U.S. Census Bureau.
