The 15th annual Veterans Day Ceremony

McKinney, Texas, November 7, 2022 – The 15th annual Veterans Day Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park in McKinney, 6053 Weiskopf Avenue, will be held this year on Saturday, November 12, at 11:00 am.  

Hosted by RD Foster, Chairman of the McKinney Armed Services Memorial Board, the featured speaker will be Collin County Sheriff and US Air Force veteran Jim Skinner. Sostenuto, A Choral Community of North Texas, will provide the music and the McKinney High School Marine Corps JROTC will once again present the colors. For 15 years the Missing Man Fly Over has been led by Carl Best and the vintage AT-6 aircraft will again do the honors.  

The first Veterans Day Ceremony was held on November 12, 2007, while the site was still a vacant lot. Since then, the Memorial Park has been built and the Wall of Honor was dedicated on November 11, 2011. On the black granite wall are etched the names of 431 fallen warriors who died while in the service of our country and lived in Collin County.
