(McKinney – Sept. 9, 2025) Visit McKinney was recognized with two prestigious awards at the 2025 Destinations Texas Annual Conference
(formerly Texas Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus—TACVB) held in Fort Worth, Texas. These awards celebrate excellence in tourism
marketing and promotion across the state. The organization received the award for Best Meetings & Events Promotion as well as the distinguished Judges’ Choice Award in the same category for it’s creative sports trading cards camping.
The campaign was designed to showcase McKinney’s diverse sports venues in a fresh and engaging way, highlighting the city as a premier destination for athletic tournaments and gatherings. In addition to the organizations accolades, Aaron Werner, Executive Director of Visit McKinney, also achieved a professional milestone by completing the Destination Management Specialist (DMS) certification. This certification recognizes tourism leaders who have demonstrated advanced knowledge and expertise in destination management and development. The 2025 Destinations Texas annual conference brought together 340 tourism professionals from across the state to network, share best practices, and celebrate industry achievements.
