Ambassador Spotlight- Cynthia Durrance

by | Oct 27, 2026

My name is Cynthia Durrance, and I work with Mazal Home Care, an in-home care company dedicated to helping individuals who need assistance remain safe, comfortable and independent wherever they call home . Our caregivers assist with meal preparation, grocery shopping, transportations to doctors’ appointments , bathing and showering , medication reminders and other activities of daily living. Our mission is to support families and help their loved one age in place with dignity.
In addition to my work with Mazal Home Care. to serve on the Board of Directors for First Class Seniors; a referral organization that connects older adults and individuals with disabilities to the services and resources they need .I’m on the board of the Collin County Veteran Coalition. and am an active mementer North Texas Gerontological Society.
Being an ambassador is especially meaningful because I genuinely enjoy getting involved in the community. I was an ambassador for the Galveston Chamber of Commerce for 5 years, and it seemed natural to get involved in McKinney. I consider it a privilege to hear peoples’ stories , learn about their experiences and build a strong connection in the community
I’ve spent the last 40 years in healthcare as a respiratory therapist, clinical research coordinator, and clinical instructor . In 2005 I discovered eldercare and I was hooked. I wanted to dedicate myself to servicing the older adult population that has already given so much
Outside of work , I love the outdoors, beach, hiking , exploring, restaurants and cooking. I also have a passion for animal rescue , particularly labrador retriever. I have been involved in Labrador retriever and other dog rescue for over 30 years and continues to be something I love.
My greatest joy is my family. My daughter is a teacher who lives in Austin with her husband and my grandson. My son lives in Saint Augustine, Florida where he purchased a golf cart dealership. Both of these wonderful people serve their community in many ways.
For me it’s always been about people, purpose and making a difference.
