Apple Inc. has announced an additional $100 billion investment in U.S. manufacturing partnerships, with North Texas set to be one of the biggest beneficiaries. A major part of this investment will flow into the Collin County city of Sherman, where Apple is partnering with GlobalWafers America to produce advanced semiconductor wafers and with Texas Instruments to expand operations at TI’s massive new facility in the city.
For Collin County businesses, these investments signal significant ripple effects: job creation, supply chain opportunities, and continued growth of the tech and manufacturing sectors that directly impact our regional economy. Apple’s partnerships are expected to accelerate innovation in semiconductor manufacturing—a critical industry for North Texas’ long-term competitiveness.
With Apple also continuing expansion in Austin and new projects in Houston, Texas is solidifying its role as a national leader in advanced manufacturing and technology. For chamber members living and working in Collin County, the Sherman projects represent both increased business opportunities and strengthened economic vitality close to home.
