Expanded facility will increase access to medical, mental health, pediatric, and specialty care for uninsured neighbors
McKinney, Texas — May 14, 2026 — CommonGood Medical will celebrate the grand opening and ribbon cutting of its new clinic facility on Saturday, July 25th, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 2750 Virginia Parkway in McKinney. The expanded space comes as demand for affordable healthcare continues to rise across Collin County, where more than 110,000 residents remain uninsured.
The new clinic will allow CommonGood Medical to serve more patients, reduce appointment wait times, and expand access to counseling, optometry, pediatrics, and future in-house dental and imaging services. Community members are invited to attend the ribbon cutting, tour the new facility, and learn more about the organization’s mission to provide quality, compassionate healthcare for uninsured neighbors.
Last year alone, CommonGood Medical provided nearly 5,700 patient encounters and served more than 1,060 uninsured patients across Collin County. Nearly three out of every four patients reported going without healthcare before finding the clinic. Through a network of 40 specialist partners, pharmacies, and dentists, the organization also helped connect patients to critical services they otherwise could not afford.
The expansion reflects both growing community need and growing community support. In 2025, more than 180 volunteers contributed over 6,000 hours to help provide care with dignity and compassion. Community partners have also helped raise more than $2.7 million toward the new clinic project.
“There are over 110,000 residents of Collin County living without health insurance. Unfortunately, this number is growing as financial pressures rise and increasing numbers of neighbors are seeing their margins disappear,” said Dr. Stephen Twyman, Founder and CEO of CommonGood Medical. “This expansion will dramatically increase the depth and breadth of our services, resulting in more comprehensive care for more people. We are very thankful to our many partners who helped make this growth a reality. It is an honor and privilege to serve alongside our community and be the Common Good together.”
For many patients, the clinic represents more than medical care. Recently, after an appointment, one patient shared: “I didn’t think I could feel like this again. I had given up and thought that’s just the way life was supposed to be. Then I found CommonGood Medical, and it’s so wonderful. The only thing bothering me today is a cold.”
The new facility represents more than additional square footage. It reflects a growing community response to the healthcare challenges facing uninsured families across North Texas and creates more room for healing, dignity, and long-term care.
The grand opening celebration will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, public tours, and remarks from community leaders and elected officials. The event is free and open to the public.
